The Abia State Government has extended warm felicitations to Archbishop Chibuzo Raphael Okpoko on the occasion of his 65th birthday, describing him as a devoted spiritual leader and advocate of truth and justice.
Representing Governor Alex Chioma Otti, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Ikechukwu Emetu, conveyed the Governor’s goodwill during a celebration held in Umuahia. The event attracted family members, clerics, associates, and well-wishers from across the state.
Emetu described the Archbishop as “a remarkable servant of God” whose life reflects humility, faith, and a deep commitment to humanity.
He noted that Archbishop Okpoko has consistently championed moral values and played a vital role in promoting justice and good governance.
“The reason we are gathered here is to celebrate a father, a brother, and a proud son of Abia who has the interest of the state at heart,” the Deputy Governor said, while also acknowledging the Church as a critical partner in governance.
He further prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and good health for the cleric as he continues his spiritual mission.
In his remarks, Aaron Akabuokwu described the occasion as one of thanksgiving, noting that attaining the age of 65 is a testament to God’s grace and faithfulness.
Sharing his personal testimony, Archbishop Okpoko recounted what he described as divine intervention in the planning of the celebration, citing last-minute provisions, including the donation of a venue and swift support received within 48 hours.
He also expressed appreciation to the state government for its presence at short notice.
Delivering a sermon titled “Make Gratitude Your Attitude,” Uma Owunta urged attendees to cultivate a lifestyle of gratitude toward God and fellow humans. He drew references from biblical passages, encouraging worshippers to remain thankful in all circumstances.
