“Governor Ikpeazu’s reelection is sacrosanct’-Abia Speaker

The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Chikwendu Kalu, has said the reelection of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, in the March 9, Governorship/State House of Assembly is sacrosanct.
Hon. Kalu who made the mark while addressing the people of Isiala Ngwa South, at Umunevo and Amaiyi Nvosi during his ward-to-ward campaign tour of Ward 6 and Ward 5, said he was in the areas to educate them on the electoral process and the importance of the March 9th Governorship and State House of Assembly elections to the Ngwa aborigines.
He stated emphatically that the reelection bid of Governor Ikpeazu is beyond Party politics and stressed that it’s a collective fight against the marginalization they had suffered from time immemorial in the history of Abia state.
Kalu noted that the Youths of Ngwa-land are the most concerned stakeholders as future leaders adding that they should be at the front burner to play active role with their Permanent voter cards to support  their reelection bid.
He expressed disappointment over the voting attitudes Abians and Ndi Igbo at large exhibited in the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections which he described as apathetic but urged the people of Isiala Ngwa South to turnout in their numbers come March 9th, to perform their Civic responsibilities with a view to reelect him, the Speaker, into the Abia Assembly and Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as Governor.
In their remarks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Council, Chief Ike Anyatonwu, and the Isiala Ngwa South, PDP Campaign Council Coordinator, Chief Patrick Onwuka, urged the people to turnout en masse to vote for Governor Ikpeazu and the Speaker, Rt.Hon Kalu, to enable them complete their second term.
They expressed displeasure over the voting style of people in the February 23 Presidential and NASS elections pointing out that there were too many void votes recorded and enjoined the Ngwa indigenes to be meticulous while casting their votes in the next polls.
Earlier in their separate speeches, the Ward 6 Coordinator, Chief Iheanyi Achoromadu, a PDP Chieftain, Chief Tony Ururuka, and Ward 6, Youth leader, comrade Smart Uwakwe, assured the Speaker and Governor Ikpeazu of their bloc votes adding that they’ll work collectively to deliver them come March 9.
They noted that the member representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency in the State Assembly had in the last 3 years in office delivered quality democracy dividends to the people of Isiala Ngwa South and reaffirmed that they must reciprocate his kind gesture by commiting all their votes to him.
