The opening of the bid aimed at provision of world class waste management services in the state was held at the conference Room, office of the SSG.
Speaking while opening the bids under the supervision of all the bidders, the chairman on bidding on waste management, Dr Oluebube Chukwu recalled that the Governor on the 23rd of June declared state of emergency on waste management in Aba.
He pointed out that Governor Alex Otti in his bid to improve sanitary condition of the state issued an invitation of bids aimed at providing waste management services.
He noted that in order to effectively pursue this course, government has carved the two cities of Aba and Umuahia into zones with Aba having four zones and Umuahia two, stressing that they will work on the bids and come up with the best.
