Government Expresses Readiness To Partner Nigeria Institute Of Town Planners

Government has said that it will partner relevant agencies in realizing its vision and mission of rebuilding the state.

The Secretary to Abia State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu made this known when the Executive of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners Abia State Chapter paid a courtesy visit to his office, said Government is poised to rebuild a better Abia that all will be proud of in future.

Prof kalu pointed out that the present Government has the original masterplan of Aba as a guide to the rebuilding process adding that Government will not hesitate to call on them whenever their services are needed in the rebuilding process.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the team Dr. Chijioke Odumuko said they came to familiarize with the present administration under the able leadership of Governor Alex Otti.

He pointed out that the institute is saddled with the responsibility of designing and developing of urban areas such as towns and cities and expressed their readiness to work with the present administration for development of the State.

He called for adequate funding of the members for effective operation.

Also speaking the President, Nigeria institute of Town Planners, Nathaniel Atebije represented by the first National vice president, Nigeria institute of Town planners, Mr Ogbonna Chime called on Government to set up institutions that will make the domestication of Nigerian urban and regional planning law of 1992 workable and meaningful for the people of the state,
adding that Government should make sure that every available land space is planned ahead, for its physical development.
