Gov Udom  sacks Akpabio’s brother, Ibanga, one other

The Akwa Ibom State Goverrnor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel has relieved the brother to senator Godswill Akpabio, Sir Ibanga Akpabio alongside commissioner for culture and tourism, Victor Antai of their duty as commissioners in the state.

 

Sir Ibanga Akpabio who was the commissioner of Labour and productivity was said to have been sacked due to anti party activities.

 

 

This was contained in a press statement signed by the secretary to the state government Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem and made available to Newsmen in Uyo Akwa Ibom State today.

The statement partly read, “The State Government has dropped  the Commissioner, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. Victor Antai and the commissioner, Ministry of Labour  and productivity, Sir Emem Akpabio and it takes immediate effect 

 

“Rt. Hon Antai and Sir Emem Akpabio had to be removed from the State Executive Council following their reluctance  to comply with good governance processes of government.”

 

The estranged commissioners were however mandated to handover to the Permanent Secretaries in their different  Ministries before close of work todayWednesday 8th August; 2018.

Meanwhile it was gathered that the state governor does  not feel comfortable having the duo as members of his cabinet considering their alleged romance with the opposition party in the state
