Gov Otu Appoints New Cross River HOS as Eteng Bows Out

Civil servants in Cross River State on today bade farewell to the outgoing Head of Service (HOS), Dr. Innocent Eteng, who retired after a distinguished career in the state’s civil service.

At a valedictory ceremony, colleagues lauded Dr. Eteng’s dedication, reforms, and commitment to strengthening public service delivery. In his remarks, the retired HOS expressed gratitude to Governor Bassey Otu for the privilege to serve and urged workers to remain steadfast in supporting his successor.

Gov Otu Appoints New Cross River HOS as Eteng Bows Out

Governor Otu has approved the appointment of Barrister Orok Bassey Okon as the new Head of Service. The appointment, announced through statements signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Linus Obodo, and Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh, takes effect from September 19, 2025.

The governor charged Barr. Okon to uphold integrity, drive reforms, and entrench professionalism and accountability in the state’s civil service.
