Gov Otti’s Strategic Climate Change Initiatives Propelled Abia To National Recognition — Aide

 

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process and Public Procurement, Dr Oluebube Chukwu has commended Governor Alex Otti’s administration’s climate change initiatives, which secured Abia State the 8th position among the 36 states in the national climate change governance ranking.

 

Dr Chukwu who gave the commendation on Tuesday, while speaking to Journalists in his Office at Government House Umuahia, noted that the States ranking is based on the state government’s initiatives such as the development of climate change policies, online media visibility, and the state’s participation in national climate change programs among others.

The Governor aide emphasized that the paradigm shift under the Governor Otti’s administration has resulted in substantial progress and recognition of Abia state which has before now languished at the bottom of various governance and development indices often ranking 36 out of 36 states.

 

Abia State’s rise in the climate change governance ranking is a testament to the concerted efforts and strategic planning of the current administration.

 

“It underscores the effective leadership initiatives of Governor Alex Otti and also highlights the state’s commitment to addressing climate change and promoting environmental sustainability”, Dr Chukwu stated.

The Governor’s Aide who also commended the business-friendly Initiatives of the state government, said that the recently inaugurated Council on the Ease of Doing Business would enhance Abia state’s position as a preferred investment destination.

 

He noted that Governor Otti is reforming the business regulatory environment in Abia to provide optimal service to investors and enable the state take it’s rightful place as a choice destination for business adding that the state has continued to advance under the present administration.
