Abia state governor Dr Alex Otti has visited the De-latinos Concept, Umuahia aftermath of an alleged security breach that led to brutalisation of guests and destruction of properties at the joint by some policemen.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu and accompanied by the State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, said that he came to assess the situation and deployed the action of the policemen.
He reassured residents of the state of adequate protection of their lives and properties, stating that his government would continue to accord security, a top priority.
Dr. Otti frowned at the unfortunate situation of destruction of properties at the Concept and brutalisation of her customers and guests.
The Governor commended the swift response of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa for the able way he handled the situation.
He assured that the state government would continue to collaborate with the state Police Command to ensure that no individual would be subjected to any abuses and at the same time protect their means of livelihood.
The Governor further stated that his administration was committed to attracting investment and provision of conducive business outfits to operate and would, therefore, nip in the bud, any negative vices that would undermined that policy.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, restated his commitment towards a disciplined and professional Police force in line with the objectives of the Inspector General of Police.
CP Isa said that he equally came to assess the situation of the alleged unruly behaviour of some police officers and assured that investigation into the issue had commenced.
CP Isa assured the public of an update on the issue as the personnel involved are currently undergoing interrogation at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
Earlier, the CEO of De- Datinos Concept Mr. Emmanuel Okenini gave a detailed background information of the squabble and bemoaned the extent of damage inflicted on him by the policemen.
He expressed appreciation to both the State Governor and the Commissioner of Police for their timely visit and promised to ensure that justice is done on the matter.
