Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing reconstruction work on Ovom Street in Aba, assuring residents that the project will be completed before the end of the year.
Governor Otti gave the assurance on Sunday after attending a service at Salvation Ministries, 135 Okigwe Road Aba, from where he proceeded to inspect the Ovom Street project.
The Ovom Street had suffered severe gully erosion, cutting off the area, leading to collapsed buildings and loss of livelihoods before the State Government’s intervention.
Addressing the large crowd of residents who trooped out to welcome him, the Governor commended the progress of work and pledged his administration’s determination to restore the road and ease the suffering of the people.
He said the project was a demonstration of his government’s commitment to rehabilitating Aba and other parts of the state.
The Governor assured, “We are satisfied with the level of work done and I can tell you that the work would be completed before the end of the year”.
Governor Otti was accompanied on the inspection by senior government officials and personal aides.
