Abia State Governor’s Wife, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, has commended the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Health Authority Secretaries in the state, World Health Organization(WHO) and other development agencies for their selfless services in the state.
The Abia First Lady, made the commendation when the management of national primary health care development agency, supporting partners Unicef and WHO, paid her a courtesy visit in her Government House Office in Umuahia today.
According to her, “we have seen the challenges in the health sector and Gov. Otti, is committed to revamp the health sector of the state”
” I therefore call on Abians to support this administration to achieve topnotch health care delivery to all especially in the area of maternal and child health” she said.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Mrs. Charity Agwu, said they came to show solidarity and to intimate the Wife of the Governor on the upcoming line of programmes during the maternal and newborn health week.
The aim, she explains is to drive home the care of maternal and newborn and to sensitise the expectant mothers of the need of vitamin A supplement, nutrients assessment of the child, immunization and antenatal cares to women during pregnancy.

However, she solicited the support of the state government and the presence of the wife of the governor at the Flag-off of the maternal/newborn health week.
Meanwhile, in their good will messages, the representatives of the world health organisation, Victoria Onochie, who spoke on behalf of others said that they have seen the willingness and commitment of Abia state government, they will play their role to ensure that health care delivery in Abia is greatly improved.
