Gov Otti Appoints Kanu Nwankwo Enyimba FC Supervisor

 

Governor Alex Otti has officially appointed Abia born Football Legend and former professional football player, Kanu Nwankwo to serve as supervisor of the Enyimba Football Club Aba.

Nwankwo, a former member of the Nigerian National Team and one time Super Eagles Captain had during his career played for Dutch side Ajax, Inter Milan of Italy and English Clubs such as Arsenal,West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth.


The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu made the disclosure at Government House Umuahia, while briefing Newmen on the outcome of the Executive Council Meeting held today.

Prince Kanu noted that that the appointment of Nwankwo, also known as Papilo, is aimed at strengthening the People’s Elephant to win more laurels for the state.


He said; “We all know that Kanu Nwankwo is a football legend from this state and the governor has thought it wise to bring him on board to supervise Enyimba Football club.

“The Club has recorded a lot of successes over the years. Mr Kanu Nwankwo coming on board is only to strengthen them (Enyimba FC) to win more laurels in the future”.

The Information boss also announced that the Governor Otti during EXCO approved the appointment of Pastor Nwankwo Dike as the State Director, National Orientation Agency, NOA; an effort which he said is aimed at addressing the disconnect between government and the citizens of the State.

Prince Kanu further disclosed that the Otti administration has earmarked 17 schools , one each from the 17 LGAs for reconstruction, adding that work in the schools would commence soon as they would be ready before the administration clocks 100 days in office.
