Gov. Ikpeazu has done well in cooperative farming – NANFACOS President

The National President, National Apex of Nigerian Farmers Cooperatives Societies Limited , Chief Uzoma Nwaogwugwu, has extolled Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, for securing the lives of farmers in the state .

Chief Nwaogwugwu who made his feelings known in chat with newsmen in Umuahia said Abia farmers are carrying out their farming activities without fear compared to what is happening in other states.

The NANFACOS President revealed that the Governor has set up a committee and donated a patrol van to monitor the progress and security of farmers in the state and commended him for doing well in cooperative farming especially the purchase of Tractors for farming, sending farmers outside the country to learn modern farming techniques among others as well as producing NANFACOS National President.

He noted that Abia State Apex of Farmers Cooperative Societies Limited is working hand in hand with the state ministry of Agriculture and the ADP to achieve food security in the state and made it known that Nigeria will be a better place when its citizens embrace agriculture.

Chief Nwaogwugwu assured that he will use his new position to ensure the state receives everything due to it and appealed to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to rehabilitate Silos in the state and farm settlements to boost agricultural activities as well as donate a bus to enable them carry out their activities smoothly.

He however appealed to youths to embrace agriculture which gives a long lasting profit .
