The remains of the Wife of the Chief of staff to Abia State Governor, Late Prophetess (Mrs.) Onyinyechi Dorcas Agbazuere, has been laid to rest in her husband’s compound, Okpuala Ikem Nvosi, Isialangwa South LGA, amidst tears by relations, friends and well wishers.
Born into the family of Mr and Mrs UjuOsigwe of Umukabia Ohuhu in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, Late Mrs Agbazuere, aged 44 is survived by her husband and Chief of staff to the Governor, Professor ACB Agbazuere, two children, parents and a host of other relatives.
Speaking at the funeral ceremony conducted by the Bible Redeemed Mission Church in conjunction with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), held at Professor Agbazuere’s Green Field, Ikem Nvosi, the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu who admitted that loosing a dear wife is a very difficult experience,urged his Chief of Staff to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
Governor Ikpeazu described the untimely death of the deceased as a big blow to the entire Agbazuere family, adding that it is a harvest of soul for God who has given and taken back and urged the bereaved family to hold on to God in their moment of grief as He alone can console them.
He enjoined Prof. Agbazuere to always be there for his children to ensure that they would not miss their mother and prayed God to console all that she left behind.
In their respective speeches, the Senator representing Abia Central Chief T.A Orji, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji said death is inevitable and urged Prof. Agbazuere to be consoled while praying God to grant him the strength to bear the loss.
Contributing, the former Chief of Staff to former Imo State Governor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu encouraged Prof. Agbazuere to take heart assuring him and the entire Agbazuere family that God Almighty will continue to guide them.
In their tributes
In their tributes, the Chairman Ohuhu Council of traditional Rulers Eze Nnamdi Ofoegbu who spoke onbehalf of Ndi Ohuhu, Eze Dr Solomon Nwakwue on behalf of Ikem Nvosi community and Mrs. Ijeoma Agomuo of the Ikem Nvosi Women Association regretted the untimely death Mrs. Onyinyechi Agbazuere and described her as a very good woman who lived a life worthy of emulation.
Speaking for the church, Evang. Mrs. Margaret Okpechi said the deceased lived a fulfilled life and described her as a woman of faith who was very active in her services and served God sacrificially.
In his sermon, the General Overseer, Bible Redeemed Mission Church Rev. (Chaplain) Oliver Ibezim reminded people to be circumspect in whatever they do, saying that whatever one has is given to him by God and he would give account of it, adding that after death, judgment of God would follow.
The General Overseer, who spoke on the topic “Remember Your Creator” called on all to fear God because God will bring up everything done in the secret and open to judgement.
He charged the living to make good use of their time and be reconciled to God and enjoined Prof. Agbazuere to be consoled while praying God to sustain him.
In a funeral oration, the Chief Mourner and Chief of Staff to the Abia State Governor, Prof. Anthony Agbazuere said he did not lose just a wife but a good woman and regretted her untimely demise.
He said the late wife was privileged to have the divine gift of prayer and always stood by him and described her as a jewel of inestimable value.
He thanked everyone that has shown him love in this time of grief, especially Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and his family and prayed God to bless them all.
The burial ceremony attracted the presence of the wife of the Governor, Dr. (Mrs.) Nkechi Ikpeazu, wife of the Deputy Governor lady Vivan Ude Oko Chukwu, Member representing Isialangwa North & at the National Assembly, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, Minister of Science & Technology represented by Dr. Tom Johnson, wife of the Deputy Governor, members of the State House of Assembly, SSG, Commissioners, among other dignitaries
