Gov Ikpeazu commissions Umuode/Umuojima road in osisioma

Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has commissioned the 3.7 Kilometre Umuode /Umuojima ring road, in Osisioma Local Government Area of the state.

The Umuode /Umuojima ring road connects about three prominent markets in the area.

Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Ikpeazu who noted that the road will boost economic activities and strengthen unity among communities in the area,also assured that the road will be extended to Ekeakpara with a view to giving communities within the area, easy access to the markets.

According to Governor Ikpeazu, the road project was a reflection of the state government’s commitment to ensuring that every part of the state is developed.

He said that the newly constructed road would be adorned with street light to enhance the aesthetics of the area and safeguard it against criminal activities.

The Governor assured that the state government would not relent in boosting infrastructural development and would begin the construction of Ife road of Ode-Ukwu Community in no distant time.

In his speech,the Commissioner for Works,Mr Eziuche Ubani appealed to Abians to be patient with the state government ,adding that no road project would be abandoned.

Ubani said that the newly constructed 3.7km road has a width of 10 meters with good drainage system and assured that serious efforts are in place to complete roads under construction.

Eze Young Ajuzie of Ode-Ukwu community in his remark,thanked the state government for constructing the Umuode-Umuojima ring road ,adding that the gesture has alleviated the suffering of the community.

Ajuzie called on the state government to expedite action towards constructing Umuode-Ife road in the community to enhance socioeconomic development in the area.

Some residents who spoke to National Ambassador reporter at the event,including Mr Chimezie Dopa, Ngozi Onwuka and Uchechukwu Nwangwa thanked Governorship Okezie Ikpeazu for the gesture, assuring him of their votes in Saturday’s Governorship election.
