Gov. Ikpeazu commences another round of road commissioning.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state  has commenced another round of the commissioning of road projects built by his adminstration across the state.
This is part of the State wide project inspection and commissioning program tagged “Kinetic Abia”.
The Governor, Tuesday,commissioned the First Phase of the Umuibe-Umuokereke Ngwa–Ntighauzo-Ibeme ring road in Obingwa Local Government Area of the State completed by his government.
Also commissioned by Governor Ikpeazu is the Umuene-Obikabia road as well as the unveiling of the Ururuka statue at the Obikabia Round-About built by the present adminstration in memory of the Late Chief Paul Ururuka, a former Minister of Works in the old Eastern Region.
Speaking while commissioning the projects, Ikpeazu described the roads as strategic.
He noted that the Umuene-Obikabia road is now an alternative route to Aba and Umuahia and would enhance economic activities around Isialangwa North & South areas of the State in addition to Aba and it’s environs adding that the Umuibe-Umuokereke Ngwa–Ntighauzo-Ibeme ring road in Obingwa Local Government Area was the beginning of other road projects to be done around that area.
The Governor disclosed that the second phase of the road project would  stretch to Akpaa and would be completed before December, and assured that the contractor handing the project would deliver a quality work.
The Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu,in his remarks, commended Governor Ikpeazu for putting smiles on the people’s face by fixing the road, and expressed joy over the significant change in the area.
He recalled that the Obikabia junction and its axis were the first spot the present administration commenced construction five years ago.
The Commissioner for Works, Bob Ogu assured the people of the area of the commitment of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to commence the second phase of the road which would terminate at Akpaa and stressed the need for the people to protect the road and assist the contractor to achieve  government’s goal in fixing the road.
Earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman, Obingwa Local Government Area, Chief Kingsley Nnaji commended the Governor for constructing the road which he said cuts across the five wards in Agalaba in Obingwa LGA and expressed the hope that the second phase of the road would be expedited.
