Gov Ikpeazu assures rehabilitation of Umuihe Healthcentre,inspects Umuikaa-Umuene Obikabia road

Rehabilitation and upgrade of the dilapidated Umuhie Health Center in Ikeahaba Autonomous Community,Isialangwa South Local Government Area will commence by November this year.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu stated this while inspecting the ongoing road construction works that stretches from Umuikaa-Umuene in Isialangwa South to Obikabia in Obingwa LGA, where he had flag stops to ascertain the progress of work on the road.
He said the health centre when completed would equally be upgraded to provide the needed healthcare facilities in the community and its environs.
According to Governor Ikpeazu, aggressive road construction and rehabilitation will commence in parts of the state as soon as the rains abate.
While noting that the importance of the Umuikaa-Umuene-Obikabia road cannot be overemphasized as it is an alternative route for residents along the Aba and Obingwa axis,the Governor also used the opportunity to assure the people of the area of his administration’s seriousness to complete the road project by the forthcoming dry season.
Governor Ikpeazu who equally announced that the construction of  Okpulo Umuobo road will commence soon, said the network of roads will make possible for easy transportation and movement of farm produce for people around the areas.
Receiving the Governor at various locations,the people who spoke through their leaders including Eze Godwin Nwakanma of Alaoma Autonomous Community,Isiala Ngwa South,Nze Boniface Ahuruonye of Umuoleke Ama-Mbutu Autonomous Community,Chief Nnamdi Evulobi of Umuhie in Ikeahaba Autonomous Community all in Isialangwa South and Chief Ezinwa Abiri of Mgboko Umuocha, Obi Mgboko Amaisii,Obingwa LGA, expressed gratitude to the Governor for his intervention which saw to the fixing of the road which has been in bad shape for many years and assured him of their unflinching support.
The Community leader of Umuhie had earlier requested the Governor to rehabilitate the community’s dilapidated health centre to enable them have access to primary healthcare.
