Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Joseph Fubara has reiterated his commitment towards Human Capital Development in the state.
The Governor disclosed this during the training of a new cohort of skilled engineers in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He revealed that the Engineers were fully trained in the operation and maintenance of the advanced AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter.
Represented by the Coordinator of the project, Dr. Stanley Kotey Pepple, the Governor said he is poised towards equipping youths with globally competitive skills in aviation engineering.
In his words: “The programme doesn’t just stop at skilling; it opens up new frontiers, positioning Rivers State as a key player in Nigeria’s booming aerospace and transportation industries.”
He also lauded the participants, saying, “I am immensely proud of the dedication and resilience demonstrated by these young engineers throughout their rigorous training.
He said: “Their success underscores this Government’s foresight in investing in human capital and technological innovation as key drivers of sustainable development”, he added.
“These newly trained engineers are now poised to soar, attracting investments and driving innovation in the aviation sector. Rivers State, under Governor Sim Fubara’s leadership, is cementing its status as a hub of progress, ingenuity and opportunity.
“With this bold step, Governor Siminalayi Fubara proves once again that his administration is not just building for today but creating a prosperous and sustainable future for the people of Rivers State. The sky is no longer the limit—it’s just the beginning.”
