Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has on Wednesday received a “Pillar of Ecumenism Award” from the Christian Council of Nigeria and assured of his commitment to delivering quality healthcare and education.
The National President of Christian Council of Nigeria, Most Rev’d David Onuoha who addressed the press after a closed door meeting with the governor disclosed that they had quality discussions where the governor emphasised on the policy directions of his administration to include provision of quality healthcare, education, agriculture and peace in the state.
He said the passion of the governor shows that he is focused on delivering quality leadership to Rivers people.
Revd. Onuoha commended the governor for pursuing peace in the state as it is pivotal in attaining development.
“We gave him an award as a ‘Pillar of Ecumenism’ due to his peaceful disposition and cordial relationship with churches in this State, irrespective of denominations. So, we felt we should encourage him to do more.”
He assured that they will continue to pray that God will give him the grace to implement his laudable plans for Rivers State.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the award plaque to Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
