Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has lauded Senator John Azuta Mbata at 65, describing him as a rare gift to Rivers State.
Gov Fubara who stated this today in Port-Harcourt, during the birthday ceremony of Sen. Mbata, added that the celebrant is a man of great humility and modesty despite his accomplishments in life.
In his goodwill message, the Governor said that he feels honoured identifying with Mbata among crops of respected Rivers elders he tagged as “actual face of Rivers State”.
In his words: “Today is very special because the day of everyone’s birth is very significant in their lives. For those of us who read too much cosmic books I mean today is a very special day.
“No wonder whoever crosses your path always have positive things to say. I sincerely wish you good health, and more blessings. You know (biblical) David was blessed so much that even in his old age he was still receiving a lot of honours.
“So I want the blessings of God that adds no sorrow to continue to be your portion, you and your family. As we join to mark this day with you, I want you to know that we appreciate your support for us.
According to him, “It takes a man who has integrity,… the real one to stand on the path of truth and you have shown it in this State, and we appreciate you.
He assured the celebrant that he will continue to work with him and secure his support to ensure that they will together take the State to the promised land.
The governor charged the children of the celebrant to emulate their father and lead a good life of reputation and integrity so that in due time people will also reference them in line with their father.
“That is my message to you. But I know you are not going to disappoint your dad, because he has shown you the right way, through humility and care. So make him proud.”he concluded.
