Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on Sunday joined worshippers at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Hospital Road, Port Harcourt, for a thanksgiving service organized by the Boys Brigade to mark the successful conclusion of their 2025 camping exercise.
Governor Fubara was accompanied to the service by notable political figures, including Hon. Fubara Hart, Hon. Ngozi Abu, and Hon. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, among others.
The atmosphere in the church was charged with excitement as the congregation erupted in joy when the governor was introduced during the service.
Delivering the sermon, the Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, emphasized the weight of leadership responsibilities, noting that true leadership requires patience—a virtue he described as rare but essential.
The Bishop also advised the young members of the Boys Brigade to steer clear of cultism as they grow, urging them to uphold values of discipline and integrity.
He further charged the congregation to remain humble and avoid using their positions to oppress others as they progress in life, reminding them that elevation comes with accountability.
Special prayers were later offered for Governor Fubara, with the church asking for divine strength, continuous upliftment, and restoration to his rightful place.
The thanksgiving service was part of activities marking the end of the Boys Brigade’s 2025 camping event in Rivers State.
