Gov Eno Unveils TAJ Bank Branch In Akwa Ibom 

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno on Tuesday, April 29 unveiled a branch of TAJ bank Limited in Uyo, the state capital.

 

Governor Eno represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Emem Bob described the entrance of the bank in Akwa Ibom as a significant investment that will encourage financial inclusion and job opportunities for the youths.

 

The governor said the bank’s mandates are in line with the ARISE agenda of his administration and urged the officials to cultivate the culture of excellent service delivery to meet the diverse needs of customers in the state.

 

 

He, therefore reassured of his commitment in providing conducive environment for business operations even as he encouraged people to patronize the bank.

 

 

“This is a significant investment in Akwa Ibom State as the bank will assist government to ensure financial inclusion, youth empowerment and job creation. It is undoubtedly in line with our Arise agenda.” The governor said.

 

In his Keynote address, the Managing Director of TAJ bank, Hamid Joda said TAJ is a non-interest ethical bank operating under Islamic banking principles.

 

 

The MD who was represented by the South South/South East regional Manager of TAF, Dr Ibiene Bobmanuel disclosed that the bank does not engage in hidden charges irrespective of the volume of transactions made rather it gives premium customer satisfactions.

His words, “We have a lot of value proposition for all our customers and good customer experience. Here, we encourage you to save as you can and to withdraw as much as you can without charges, we have come to stay and looking for a mutual beneficial relation with the state.

 

 

“The bank is strong and has met all the requirements of the CBN, we were licensed February 1, 2019 and came operational December 2, and since then it has been profitable. We are highly regulated by CBN and we have not defaulted in any way.We are interested in growing peoples’ business, we give loans to help the business grow.

 

 

“We have about 56 branches in the Nigeria, and hope to have over One Hundred branches at the end of the year. Over 95 percent of our staff is Akwa Ibom people and we still want more of them. We are aligning with the ARISE agenda of the state government in empowerment.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Akwa Ibom branch manager of TAJ. Mr Precious Effiong expressed hope that the bank would thrive in the State given the business friendly disposition of the governor. He also assured that his team would take the banking space to a higher level.

 

 

Effiong while highlighting the customer friendly facilities the bank offers promised to maintain utmost confidentiality of customers in line with the banking ethical codes and standard.

 

“We give personalized services and our facilities are friendly and stable.” He said
