Gov Diri Vows To Sack Non-Performing Commissioners

The Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Douye Diri, has implored members of the newly constituted cabinet to key into his administration’s vision, also warned that he will not hesitate to sack any commissioner that does not perform to expectations in their ministries and state at large.

He disclosed this during the 130th session of the state executive council in Government House, Yenagoa, and urged the new cabinet members to take their work so serious in order to have positive impact on the people in the state.

Senator Diri further expressed confidence that the new commissioners would perform well as they were carefully chosen based on their pedigrees and also charged them to work as a team in order to achieve the administration’s agenda.

“As you have joined this executive council, so much is expected of us. You are our eyes and ears in the ministries. Any member of the state executive council that does not work in rules with the policies and vision of this government, we will show the person the exit door immediately”, he stated.

“We appreciate the Bayelsans for creating a conducive environment for this government to thrive. Policies and programmes cannot be achieved except the people accept them. We are encouraged because you people appreciates the work we are doing. We do not praise ourselves, but our work is speaking for us”, he said.

He briefly mentioned the ongoing construction of the Nembe-Brass road, the completed Sagbama-Ekeremor road, building and equipping of science, technical and vocational schools among other projects and policies in different sectors across the state.
