Good Friday: Lawmaker, Erondu Jnr Urges Christians to Embrace Sacrifice, Love, Service to Nation

As Christians across the globe commemorate Good Friday, the member representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has called on Nigerians—especially Christian faithful—to reflect deeply on the significance of the day and imbibe the values of sacrifice, love, and selfless service.

In a statement from his Media Office, and made available to newsmen, Erondu Jnr described Good Friday as a moment for sober reflection on the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ for humanity.

He urged Christians to emulate Christ’s virtues by living lives that promote peace, unity, and love among fellow citizens.

The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service (ABHA), noted that the current socio-economic challenges facing the country require collective effort and sacrifice from all citizens.

He implored Nigerians not to lose hope, assuring that brighter days lie ahead.

“Though we are going through difficult times as a nation, we must remain steadfast and united. Just as Christ bore the cross for the salvation of mankind, we too must be willing to make sacrifices for the growth and progress of our communities and the nation at large,” he said.

The former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area (LGA), also appealed to his constituents to uphold the teachings of Christ by showing unconditional love and compassion to one another, especially in this holy season.

The former Director, Enyimba FC further urged Christians to remain committed in their walk with God.
