Fubara Mourns Senator Mpigi, Describes Him as Political Pillar

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has expressed deep shock and sadness over the sudden death of Senator Barinada Mpigi, describing him as a brother and consummate politician whose impact on Rivers State will not be forgotten.

Senator Mpigi, who represented Rivers South East Senatorial District and served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Works, died at the age of 64.

In a heartfelt tribute, Governor Fubara said the senator’s passing comes at a critical time when his experience and services were still greatly needed by the people of Rivers State. He noted that the late lawmaker was one of the leading lights in the state’s political landscape and played a significant role in advancing development efforts, particularly in infrastructure.
