FRSC launches Operation Zero Tolerance for Road Safety Offences in Rivers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has launched Operation Zero Tolerance for road crashes in the state for this year’s forth coming yuletide in Rivers State.

The Sector Commander, FRSC, Rivers State sector command, Salusi Galadunci in an interview with our reporter, said the command will not relent in it’s activities of public awareness, enlightenment and others to ensure road users plight the road with safety conciousness.

The sector Commander revealed that the moment it is September, they will fasten their belt, and increase the tempo of their activities beyond their normal regular activities, by coming out to sensitive people, be together with people, and further educate and enlighten the people. Adding that their traffic control and other activities within this period will increase.

The sector Commander of the Road Safety Core Rivers State Sector Command Salusi Galadunci further said that the command will take the issue of phone calls while driving and other safety offences seriously this period. He said anyone caught making use of phone while driving will be made to undergo meeting a psychologist for explanation and caution.

” A lot of people drive and make use of phone, which is very wrong. Car evaluation is different from psychiatric evaluation. We are not saying people have gone mad. But we are saying they are psychologically wrong. Something must be wrong with you to be driving and be using phone”

The state sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Core also advised drivers not to be dragging road. But to be patient and spare few seconds for others to pass. So as to avoid accident.
