Free Christmas Transport:Abians resident in Lagos thank Governor Ikpeazu.

Abia indigenes living in Lagos have expressed their joy and appreciation to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for keeping his promise of providing free transport to enable them travel home to spend the Christmas holidays with their kit and kin at home.

President General of the Abia State Town Unions Association, Lagos, Prince Ejituru Ikenga made this known to newsmen supervising the movement of the first batch of Abians yesterday at the State Liaison Office at Victoria Island, Lagos.

Prince Ejituru noted that with this gesture, several hundreds of our people who never planned to come home this Christmas have now taken advantage of it to go come and spend time with their people at home.

The President General also noted that the gesture was also extended to other states of the South West like Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, etc.

He urged Abians living outside the state to ensure that they identify with their Town Unions wherever they lived as only those who are duly registered with their respective Town Unions are entitled to to take advantage of this gesture.

He noted that Abians in Lagos follow closely the activities of the State Government and the projects being undertaken by the Ikpeazu administration. He expressed confidence that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu means well for the people of Abia State and called for continued prayers and support for the government.

The free transport which started yesterday continued today, and hundreds of Abians living in Lagos have taken advantage of the gesture.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has put in place measures to extend this gesture to other parts of the country like Abuja, Kano, Kaduna in subsequent Christmas holidays.

The Governor prays for journey mercies for all Abians travelling home for the yuletide.
