Fr. John Ugochukwu Onyebuchi Marks 10th Priestly Anniversary in Abia
St. Joseph Catholic Parish, Umuosu Umunna Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area of Abia State, was aglow with celebration as Rev. Fr. John Ugochukwu Onyebuchi, fondly known as Fada Oh Chim, marked the 10th anniversary of his priestly ordination.
The well-attended event drew dignitaries, clergy, and faithful from across Abia State and beyond, in honour of Fr. Onyebuchi’s decade of devoted service to the Church and society.
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, paid tribute to the celebrant’s commitment to his vocation. He lauded Fr. Onyebuchi’s contributions to the spiritual and moral development of the community, describing him as a model of humility, service, and dedication.
Governor Otti also acknowledged the Church’s continued partnership with the government in promoting peace, welfare, and development across the state. He appealed for continued prayers for his administration and extended his best wishes to Fr. Onyebuchi, praying for divine wisdom and strength in his ongoing ministry.
In his speech, Fr. Onyebuchi expressed gratitude to God for a decade of grace and service, pledging to continue his mission with renewed zeal. He thanked all who joined in the celebration and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
President of the Catholic Diocese of Aba, Rev. Fr. Jephthah Asoha, congratulated Fr. Onyebuchi on the milestone and urged him to remain steadfast in faith despite the challenges that come with priestly life.
Among the dignitaries present were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba; Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hon. Matthew Ekwuribe; and the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa.
The event underscored the deep respect and admiration Fr. Onyebuchi commands within the Church and the broader community, and served as a celebration of faith, service, and spiritual leadership.
