The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria has reaffirmed its dedication to grassroots mobilization as a vital tool for national development, pledging to harness its collective experience to foster unity and progress across the country.
At a recent gathering in Abuja, the leadership of the forum emphasized the strategic role former deputy governors can play in galvanizing support for national policies and bridging the gap between the government and the people, particularly at the grassroots level.
National Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Chris Akomas, stated that the group is driven by a strong commitment to nation-building. “We are motivated by our belief in the power of collective action. Our courage stems from the understanding that we can contribute meaningfully to shaping the future of Nigeria,” he said.
Dr. Akomas noted that the forum actively engages in national discourse to ensure its ideas and recommendations are well-documented and considered in policy formulation. He added that many of the group’s past resolutions have already received attention from President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Also speaking at the event, Senator Aliyu Wammako encouraged members of the forum to utilize their institutional knowledge to support policy continuity between federal and state governments. He emphasized that leadership is a lifelong responsibility grounded in accountability and service.
Former Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, echoed the forum’s commitment to national unity and support for the current administration. She assured Nigerians that the forum will remain steadfast in its mission and will not waver in its support for initiatives that promote national development.
