A former Chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPADEC), Mr. Henry Chilaka has formerly defected to All Progressive Congress (APC).
Chilaka, defected to APC alongside with Hon. Gideon Chilaka, two times Ukwa West LGA Chairman of PDP, High Chief Chukwudi Ekeke, former Deputy Leader, Ukwa West Legislative Council and current Deputy Chairman , PDP Ukwa West LGA Chapter, LGA Executive of PDP, Ward Executives, Party faithful, family members, friends, associates and supporters.
Receiving the defectors in Obehie, Ukwa-West LGA, Abia state recently, the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly Abuja, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, congratulated them for joining the party, adding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is committed towards the rebuilding of Southeast Nigeria and Abia State as well.
Represented by the Chairman, House Committee on South-East Development Commission (SEDC), Hon. Chris Nkwonta, he decried that Ukwa people has benefited nothing from Project Abia since 1999 till date, hence, the need to realign politically with APC to attract democracy dividends to the oil-rich area.
The member representing Ukwa-East and Ukwa-West Federal Constituency at the 10th Federal House of Representatives, National Assembly, assured them that they would be carried along in the scheme of things.
In attendance were; the Representative of the Abia Representative in the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Eruba Dimgba, Chairman of APC in Ukwa West LGA, Elder Uju Nwarie, former member Representing Abia state in the board of OMPADEC (now NDDC), Sir Esiaba Iwezor, former Chairman Ukwa West Local Government Council, Chief John Ajuzieogu, Chief of Staff to the NDDC Commissioner, Hon.
