FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: Super Falcons Fall to Norway

Nigeria played her first match in the FIFA Women’s World Cup against Norway, losing 3-0 to the Europeans.

Guro Reiten opened scoring on the 17th minute before Utland doubled their lead on the 34th minute.

Osinachi Ohale scored in her own net to give the Norwegians a comprehensive 3-0 lead before half time.

In the group’s first match played on Friday, host, France thrashed Korea Republic 4-0. So France top the group with a superior goal difference, followed by Norway while Nigeria and Korea republic have no points yet.

In other matches played today, Germany defeated China by a lone goal while South Africa lost 1-3 to Spain.
