Netherlands emerged victorious in the battle of the Europeans as they defeated Portugal by a lone goal in Dunedin.
Stefanie van der Gragt scored the only goal of the match in the 13th minute. The goal was initially ruled out for offside by referee Kateryna Monzul. But, after VAR review the goal was awarded.
Netherlands dominated the game from start to finish. Portugal were overwhelmed and had their only shot on goal as late as the 82nd minute.
Netherlands are now second in Group E behind the United States.
