FIFA Women’s World Cup: Japan Zoom Into Last Eight

Japan zoomed into the last eight of the ongoing Women’s World Cup with an emphatic 3-1 victory over 1995 champions, Norway in Wellington.

Norway defender Ingrid Engen turned Hinata Miyazawa’s cross into her net to open the scoring for the Asians.

Norway fought back to equalize a few minutes later through Guro Reiten.

Risa Shimizu’s defected strike restored Japan’s lead before Hinata Miyazawa put the icing on the cake.

Norway were out-played in all departments as Japan, the 2011 champions set their eyes on another title.
