FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP: England Narrowly Beat Haiti

The Lionesses of England produced an underwhelming performance in their Group D opener, but edged out debutants Haiti 1-0 in Brisbane, Australia.

It was Georgia Stanways retaken penalty that separated both sides.

The first kick was saved by Haiti goalkeeper, Kerly Theus, but the VAR adjudged her to have stepped off her line too early.

Lowly rated Haiti, ranked 53rd in the world stole the show from their more illustrious opponents and looked very dangerous when they attack the Europeans.
