D’Tigress of Nigeria has qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing FIBA Afrobasket in Rwanda after they came from a 14-point deficit to defeat Mozambique 59-52.
At the end of the first quarter, Mozambique led by 2 points as they defeated Nigeria 18-16. The second quarter ended in favour of the East Africans 15-13. From the third quarter, D’Tigres stepped up their game with Amy Okonkwo the tormentor-in-chief with 17 points followed by Elizabeth Balogun with 12 points. Nigeria won the third quarter 18-10 as well as the fourth quarter 12 – 9.
Nigeria will face Rwanda, who defeated Uganda 66-61, today in one of the semi-finals in Kigali.
