The lawmaker representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, is set to commission a series of strategic community development projects aimed at improving infrastructure, education, and access to basic services across the constituency.
The projects, which include water boreholes, school renovations, rural electrification, and ICT computer laboratories, are part of Hon. Obika’s broader agenda to deliver responsive and inclusive representation. The initiatives are designed to address pressing needs in underserved communities, with a focus on sustainability and human capital development.
Water borehole projects will provide clean water solutions to communities lacking access, while newly renovated schools will offer more conducive learning environments. The rural electrification projects will see the distribution of transformers to boost electricity access, and the ICT labs will serve as digital skill hubs in selected secondary schools.
These educational interventions are central to Hon. Obika’s long-term strategy, which he describes as addressing educational needs “from primary school to university.” His efforts in this sector aim to empower the next generation through improved access to technology and learning opportunities.
Alongside the infrastructure initiatives, the Labour Party (LP) lawmaker, is also preparing to launch a major empowerment program targeting vulnerable groups, particularly Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Known for his strong advocacy for inclusivity, he recently appointed a PWD as a Special Assistant and has consistently pushed for dedicated transport services for PWDs within the constituency.
Through a leadership style defined by collaboration, transparency, and community engagement, Hon. Obika has emerged as a transformative figure in AMAC/Bwari. He has effectively united stakeholders across political and social lines, ensuring that development efforts reach those most in need.
“Disability is a thing of the mind; those who refuse to contribute positively to society are disabled in mind,” he recently stated, reinforcing his belief in empowerment over pity.
Constituents are expected to attend the commissioning events, which his office confirms will be open to the public. These events reflect the open-door, grassroots-focused approach that has defined his tenure.
As these projects near completion, AMAC/Bwari continues to witness what many describe as unprecedented progress. Hon. Obika’s leadership, characterized by tangible results and inclusive governance, is being hailed as a benchmark for effective representation in the Federal Capital Territory.
