Ginger @50:How Isialangwa North Was Shut Down

 

 

It was a gathering of great men and women, business moguls, political bigwigs, technocrats, philanthropists, as the member representing Isialangwa North State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Sir Oke Nze Ginger Onwusibe (Onwa Ntigha), celebrated his 50th birthday cum 21st Marriage Anniversary.

The event which was a show of pump and pagentry, witnessed the presence of creme d la creme in the society and notable guests who appeared in their best to grace the occasion of a jolly good fellow, indeed Isialangwa North Local Government Area,has not had it in that fashion before,as they played host to class and men of high echelon.

The event was sought of a carnival with entertainment at its peak.

Guests were treated in sumptuous and delicious delicacies alongside red wines, gins and other liquors.

Waiters and waitresses were on standby at each VIP table to deliver on orders from guests, while the later were seen cracking jokes in the euphoria of  Ginger’s big day.There was alot to eat and drink.

Musical artists were on displays, taking turns, to further treat guests on afro music, highlife and local beats.

Isialangwa North LGA was literally shut down, the Amapu Ntigha Primary School where the reception ceremony took place was full to the brim with colleagues, business associates, community leaders, members of social clubs, family members, seating in a well decorated tents,with adequate security personnel.

One would definitely pray for a repeat of such an expensive treat,as a Nigerian musician would say”Who no like better thing”.

Guests did not end at gracing the occasion alone,as they appeared with luxuries to gift celebrants.

Among the guests spotted at the event were the Senator representing Abia South senatorial District and a Governorship hopeful, Sen Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Chinedum Orji,The member representing Isialangwa North/South Federal Constituency,Hon Darlington Nwokocha,2023 Governorship Aspirant under the PDP and CEO CAADES group, Dr Chima Desmond Anyaso,the Founder Tunnel End Construction Company and as well a 2023 Abia Gubernatorial Aspirant,Engr Enyinnaya Nwafor, The former Vice Chancellor of ABSU and a governorship hopeful, Prof Uche Ikonne,Chief Chuku Nwachuku,Isialangwa North LGA Chairman, Hon Chinwendu Ochulor, the Chairman of Abia state Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Joseph Nwabeke, Abia State House of Assembly members among others.

Meanwhile, the event which kick started with a week long commissioning of projects,had the Ahia Nkwo Miri project in Umuala Nsulu commissioned,with the donation of trade money to forty petty traders. The Commissioning of the Umun ka Water for all project and the commissioning/ handing over to Osusu community,the Darlington Nwokocha Mini Stadium built by the Onwa of Ntigha.The project commissioning was climaxed with the dedication of St Lukes First African Mission,a gigantic church building, single handedly built by Sir Ginger Onwusibe.

At the dedication and thanksgiving service for the 50th Birthday and 21st Marriage Anniversary of Hon Ginger Onwusibe and his lovely wife, Lady Ugochi Onwusibe,it was rain of encomiums.

In his address, the chairman of the Dedication Committee, Nze M.C. Nwogwugwu, said the building of the House of God transcends to biblical times and has become a landmark of architectural significance for mankind which expresses our love and honour for God,as such places of worship provide contact point between God and man,where most mankind problems or challenges receive divine intervention.

According to Nwogwuwgu,the building of a new and bigger church auditorium came as a result of the increase in population which translated to membership growth and modernization.”It was at the dawn of this century that the need to replace our former church building became eminent”.

He disclosed that the foundation of the edifice was laid on the 1st of August,2009 with the help of their son,Ginger Obinna Onwusibe.

The Chairman of the Dedication Committee revealed, that Onwusibe demonstrated so much passion in building the edifice from its inception.”He started first by sinking a water borehole before the project started.His contributions came from diverse ways.Apart from his personal donations, he used the opportunity of celebrating any event around him to raise funds to support this project. He also undertook specific aspects of building to execute, such as the alter, hand railings, ceilings, glazing of the windows, refurbishing the furnitures, electrical wiring and fittings, painting and tiling of the external view, as well as, constructing the fence, gates and other things.

“We are proud of you and thankful to God for giving you to us”,he said.

In his speech, the chairman on the occasion,Amb Okey Emuchay, urged the Lawmaker to continue in making impact to humanity,as his achievements are worth celebrating.He described the legislator as a gift and blessing to Ngwaland.

In an interview, the Member representing Ohafia North State Constituency,Hon Mandela Obasi, while wishing Hon Ginger Onwusibe more bliss in his marriage, commended the lawmaker for his outstanding performances and wonder the magic behind them.

Other attendees who spoke with our reporter,Engr Amaechi Nwogbe KSG, HRH Eze Okezie Clement, Sir Okey Onwukwe, Dr Mrs Esther Mbuko, wished Hon Ginger well and prayed God to uphold him in sound health,wisdom and all round peace.

They urged him not to relent in attracting the dividend of democracy to his people even as he aspires to represent them again come 2023.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Urban Planning, Ikechi Bestman Aaron, who described Sir Onwusibe as a good old friend, prayed God to grant him wisdom and understanding to make meaningful decision,while congratulating him for attaining 50 years.

Akaraka Ginger Onwusibe,the first son of the lawmaker, described his father as a sincere, loving, truthful and selfless man,who could give up everything for others to be happy.

He said he admires so much qualities in the father, adding that when he grows up, he would surpass the achievements of his Dad.

He prayed God to keep the parents together in love, promising to sponsor their 41st marriage anniversary.

The Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Darlington Nwokocha, congratulated Hon Ginger for his laudable achievements and wished him well in his endeavours.
