Family of Six Killed in Cross River Road Accident, FRSC Commander Advises Road Users to Minimize Speed

The Federal Road Safety Corps Sector Commander in Cross River State, SC Istifanus Ibrahim has advised road users especially motorists to be careful and minimize speed in the rainy season.

The Commander lamented on constant reoccurring of road accidents in the State especially during this period, including the recent one that happened killing a family of six who left Ugep in Yakurr Local Government Area of the state and was going back to Abuja after attending the Lebuku Festival Celebration.

The incident which happened around Otokpuru in Bekwarra Local Government Area was said to involved a truck and the vehicle of the deceased family, who collided face to face killing the family of six and leaving the two passengers in the truck injured.

The Road Safety Boss Confirmed that the Security personnel and those around when the incident took place said the root cause of the tragic accident was over-speeding because a lot can happen when you over speed including losing control. And that the State has recorded several deaths in these few months due to tragic accidents.
