It was a tragic morning for the family of Mr. Nwankwo Ifeanyichukwu Osu from Ndi Ezi Akuma in Ameke Ututu, Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, as they woke up to find that his building had been demolished by some family members.
According to Mr. Nwankwo, the building in question was constructed by his late mother. He reported that no one approached him regarding the land on which the property stood or made any effort to resolve any disputes over ownership. Instead, he received a call from his tenants in the village, informing him that a group of men from the compound had torn down the structure.
Preliminary investigations revealed that two individuals, identified as Mr. Nwankwo and Mr. Nwankwo Ulu, were allegedly responsible for the demolition.
At the time of filing this report, no official complaint had been lodged with the police. Elders of the community have insisted on handling the matter internally, citing it as a communal issue.
The community awaits further developments as discussions among the elders progress.
