A Non-denominational Christian Organization, One Hope, has indicated interest to build the cheapest students’ hostel accommodation in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU) Abia state. The organization disclosed this when its National Director, Evang. Uche Okoro paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, in the university recently.
According to the Clergy, the organization visited the VC in his capacity as the National Chairman of the Scripture Union of Nigeria, one of the Christian Organizations that has partnered with it over the years to instil high moral values in young people.
Speaking further, the National Director of One Hope stated that in line with the Organization’s vision to reach out to young people, it is interested in building the cheapest hostel in the University, where students will be brought closer to God.
Responding, Prof. Madu Ofo Iwe stressed that he is open to collaborations with Nigerian Christians and Christian bodies for the spiritual upliftment and moral growth of young people. He prayed that God will help the University to optimally utilize and manage the facilities that will be provided by the faith-based organization.
