Cross River Monarch, the Muri Munene of Efut Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Maurice Okon Eyo 1, has pleaded with President Bola Tinibu to facilitate the dredging of the Calabar Sea Port to enable the people of the State use it to feed themselves.
The Monarch, while addressing newsmen in the State, reminded President Tinubu to keep to his campaign promise he made to the State to dredge the Calabar Port and facilitate the use of big vessels to boost activities in the port, as well as, boost the State Economy.
The Royal Father said that Cross River kept to her promise and voted for President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the just concluded election, so it will be proper for the President to fulfil his own promise to the State.
Having put in place modalities and Committees for the dredging of Niger and Benue rivers, the Monarch said it will be good if the Federal Government also consider Cross River Port.
He said that with the bad condition of the port, other businesses are suffering businesses that will naturally boost the economy of the State, like the Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort and its like. But if the port is dredged, it will bring relief to Akwa Ibom State, Chad, Cameroon and other Northern States.
