FA CUP: 10-Man United Eliminate Arsenal to Face Leicester City

Defending champions, Manchester United qualified for the next round of the FA Cup after defeating Arsenal 5-3 on penalties at the Emirate Stadium.

After a goalless first-half, United skipper drew the first blood in the 52nd minute.

Nine minutes later, United were reduced to 10 men when Diogo Dalot was sent off. Gabriel Magalhaes equalized for Arsenal in the 63rd minute. However, Arsenal failed to take full advantage of their one-man advantage. They kept missing chances upon chances till the game dragged into extra time and finally penalties.

Kai Havertz, who missed a lot of chances during regulation time also missed his penalty kick.

Arsenal, who were recently beaten by Newcastle United 2-0 in the first leg of the EFL Cup could be heading for another trophiless season.

The fourth round draw has pitched Manchester United against Ruud van Nistelrooy coached Leicester City.

In other fixtures, Doncaster will host Crystal Palace as Aston Villa take on Tottenham Hotspur. Manchester City will take on the winner between Leyton Orient and Derby while Burnley will face the winner between Southampton and Swansea.

Everton will host Bournemouth while Liverpool will take on Plymouth. Chelsea will take on Brighton at the Amex Stadium.
