The Traditional Ruler of Isiama Afaraukwu Autonomous community, Ibeku clan in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, HRM Eze Amaechi Kelvin Ugwejeh, has expressed happiness over the election victory and successful inauguration of the member representing Umuahia East State Constituency, who doubles as the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Austin Okezie Meregini.
Eze Ugwejeh who made his feelings known to Journalists, during the Thanksgiving/ Reception ceremony in honour of Rt. Hon. Meregini, held at Ibeama Community Primary School, Umuana, Ndume, Ibeku, said he is overwhelmed with joy and optimistic that the Legislator would perform well at the House of Assembly.
According to the Monarch, Rt Hon Meregini is a very hardworking young man, who would concentrate on the business of the House to attract dividend of democracy to his constituents.
The Traditional Ruler who congratulated Rt Hon Meregini, popularly called Ugolee, for his emergence as the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, commended him for acknowledging and offering thanks to God for what He has done for him and Ndume at large.
Eze Ugwejeh, however, described Rt. Hon. Meregini as an intelligent, respectful and purpose driven fellow, whose victory at the polls,was gotten to set a new legislative record,as well as, make positive impact to his constituents and Abians at large.
Also speaking the Youth Chairman of Umuana Ibeku, Mr. Nwachukwu Monday, said that they gave their brother, Rt. Hon. Meregini, the massive vote needed to emerge victorious in the last election, and would continue to support him to succeed in the task ahead.
He further stated that they have much confidence that the Deputy Speaker will deliver efficiently and effectively to their people.
Elder Godswill Eluwa, an illustrious son of Umuana, Ndume,expressed joy that the Ndume clan is currently representing the Umuahia East State Constituency at the Abia Assembly, after 44 years of several trials, praying God to protect the Deputy Speaker, so he could function maximally.
Earlier, the President General of Ndume Otuka Federated, Deacon Orji Nwagboso, appreciated God for giving Ndume clan the opportunity to the House of Assembly, assuring that they would offer their total support to their son, for better representation, stating that already the clan has agreed to give out their secretariat at Ahiaeke, Ndume, as the Deputy Speaker’s liaison office.
