Trent Alexander-Arnold restored parity with a well taken curling free kick.
Fornals struck again in the second before Zouma made it three. Divock Origi reduced the deficit seven minutes from time. But West Ham held on to clinch all three points.
In other matches, Antonio Conte’s first Premier League match with Tottenham Hotspurs ended in a goalless draw with Everton while Smith Rowe scored the only goal as Arsenal defeated Watford 1-0.
