Christian Eriksen’s 88th minute goal was all that Tottenham Hotspurs needed to defeat stubborn Brighton. Spurs needed the three points to consolidate their third place on the log while Brighton needed at least a point to climb away from relegation waters.
With this hard-earned victory, Spurs are now three points clear of Chelsea on the third position of the league table.
Brighton are now 17th, three points above the drop zone.
In the other match, Watford and Southampton settled for a 1-1 draw. The visitors opened scoring on the first minute through Shane Long. But, Andre Gray equalized for the home side on the 90th minute.
