EPL: Haaland’s Brace Tame Wolves

Manchester City started their EPL campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux.

Erling Haaland opened scoring from close range following Rico Lewis’ low cross in the 34th minute. Three minutes later, Dutchman Tijjani Reijnder doubled City’s lead.

A minute after the hour mark, Haaland scored his second goal and City’s third, before Rayan Cherki came off the bench to put the gloss on the painting.

This score line has propelled Manchester City to the top of the table pending the outcome of other matches.

Wolves will travel to Bournemouth next Saturday before hosting West Ham in the second round of the Carabao Cup on August 26 while the Citizens will host Tottenham on Saturday followed by a trip to Brighton to round off the month.
