EPL: Chelsea, Arsenal Overtake Spurs

Tottenham Hotspurs have dropped out of the top four after they were gunned down by Arsenal 4-2 at the Emirate Stadium. Chelsea moved to third behind Manchester City and Liverpool after they defeated Fulham 2-0.

Arsenal, who are now fourth on the table, took the game to Spurs from the blast of the whistle. Their sustained pressure paid-off on the 10th minutewhen Aubameyang converted from the spot after Jan Vertonghen handled the ball in the box.

But, against the run of play Spurs were 1-2 up before halftime as Eric Dier equalised on the 30th minute before Harry Kane put the visitors ahead from the spot.

Unai Emery side did not give up in the second half. Their unrelenting effort was rewarded on the 56th minute when Aubameyang scored the equalizer.

Lacazette, who started from the bench put the homeside ahead before Uruguay international Torreira scored his first Arsenal goal after making a £26 million move from Sampdoria in July to seal Arsenal’s victory.

The Gunners have extended their unbeaten run to 19 matches.

On the other side of London Chelsea handed Fulham their first defeat under new manager Claudio Ranieri.

Pedro and Loftus-cheek scored in each half to ensure that Fulham left the Stamford Bridge empty handed.
