Enyimba International Stadium to be Commissioned soon

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has said the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, currently under construction would be commissioned soon.

The Governor who made the disclosure when he embarked on inspection to assess the level of work done at the Stadium recently said he was impressed with the progress made so far assuring that the stadium may be ready for Commissioning by August 28, this year.
He said his plans was to ensure that the football facilities, camp grounds, convenience rooms and other necessary factors are well put together to meet world standard adding that they would do some finishing touches on the aesthetics of the stadium before the Commissioning date.
Governor Ikpeazu revealed that the target was to ensure that the People’s Elephant stadium meets the Confederation of African Football, CAF, reaccreditation and world football standard.
According to the governor, soccer will not be the only game that would receive attention.
“We will à also do something about indoor games, boxing, tennis, handball, Basketball, Sprints and other sporting activities are also in our radar.
So far we are about 90 per cent good to go” he stated.
Present during the inspection were Commissioner for Sports, Mr. Martins Okoji, some Management members of Enyimba International Football Club and other top Government functionaries.
