The Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), says God will open a new chapter for Nigeria in 202 in spite all her numerous challenges in the past.
The Chairman, YOWICAN, Enugu Chapter, Chekwube Ani said this in a New Year message recently in Enugu.
Ani said: “Our country may have been wounded, 2022 not wonderful, our economy went from bad to worse and lives and properties were lost to insecurity.
“There were economic hardship, killing, kidnapping, banditry, arm- robbery, and other social vices became the order of the day. Yet, in the midst of the challenges, God remains faithful.
“We pray God to open a new chapter for our country and our State in this new year”.
Ani further said Nigerians may have made mistakes and failed in the past years but opportunities abound for them this year to right their wrongs.
He charged Christians to intensify their prayers and get ready to perform their civic rights during 2023 elections, stressing that, “We must vote for credibility this time”.
The chairman admonished them not to be driven by political parties but to vote based on individual’s character and competence.
“We, therefore, encourage all the Christian youths in Enugu State and Nigeria in general to get their PVCs which is our instrument to effect the change we want through the elections.
“Our hope for greater Enugu State and Nigeria will not grow cold nor go weary, however, we must be strong and hold on to Romans 12:12 which says, “Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation and continuing steadfastly in prayer,” Ani said.
According to him, YOWICAN, Enugu State is praying that God will give us the strength to start the new year in a manner that will transform our lives.
He explained that New year comes with new hope, new aspirations, new plans, new beginning, and sometimes, a resolution to continuing with what has worked and increasing the intensity to achieve more results.
“May the God of all grace establish, strengthen, settle and perfect all that concerns you.
“May he give us the enablement to project and radiate the ambience of his glory in our homes, schools, churches, places of work and businesses,” he prayed.
