Enugu 2023: APGA Guber Candidate Unveils Manifesto, Promises All Round Development

ENUGU–Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the 2023 governorship election in Enugu State, Mr. Frank Nweke (Jr.), has promised to run an administration that will revive culture that values honesty, hard work, accountability and an unshakable focus on the people.

He equally vowed to run a transparent administration and track mismanagement of public funds.

Nweke stated this recently during the unveiling of his manifesto, tagged: “Reigniting the Coal City.”

He articulated his 7 point agenda, which include: leadership and governance, human capital development, security, robost economy, massive wealth creation, and all round development of the state.

The APGA guber candidate promised to turn around the fortunes of the state if elected.

He also assured massive infrastructural revolution of the state to make it the economic base of the nation, urging the people to join him to liberate the state from bad governance.

“I will lead a government that models exemplary leadership and mobilises citizens to collective action and ownership of a compelling and bold vision of the Enugu State of our dreams,” he promised.

The APGA Guber Candidate vowed to plug leakages in expenditure, adding that he would replace the current system with one that is fit, inclusive, and equitable.

He further pledged to renew the political class with vibrant, selfless and visionary leaders.

Nweke maintained that if elected, would focus attention on poverty reduction and creation of job opportunities.

According to him, “we will transform Enugu into investor-friendly industrial destination by departing from the culture of managing poverty to actively seeking to create prosperity for all through policies that align production with consumption across industries from agriculture to manufacturing to technology, tourism, creative and the service industry in order to provide productive and sustainable employment for our people.

The Enugu State APGA guber standard bearer said that his development agenda would target the youth population, which he described as half of the total population in the state.

“Get Up! It’s time to take back our state,
Together with my running mate.

“My team and I will restore trust in government and dedicate ourselves to the fundamentals-building a stable and prosperous state where every citizen is economically empowered, has access to portable water, excellent healthcare and quality education; a place where every life is secure and treated with respect and dignity,” he vowed.

Nweke (Jr.) said he arrived at the decision to join the race after deep personal reflection, noting that he had come to serve the people, to leave a legacy similar to greatest leaders.

He also vowed to focus attention on water Sanitation, “open defecation will be thing of the past in my government.

While decrying dearth of public infrastructure in Enugu State, Nweke vowed to address persistent water crisis in the state within 12 months in power.

The APGA candidate said the citizens had endured enough hardship in sourcing for drinking water.

He promised to tackle the menace through partnering experts and ensuring that water supply in the state was handled by different companies to elicit competition.

“We will transform Enugu State through strategic and result-driven investment in water, road construction, sanitation, technology and alternative energy technology & manpower,” he promised.

On security, Nweke promised to deploy technology to improve security in the state, if elected governor.

“We will pursue total human security in Enugu by addressing the state and non-state actors of insecurity, partnering with security agencies and local communities.

“We will deploy technology to enhance surveillance, data collection and response time,” Nweke concluded.
