Enugu State Young Farmers Association (ENSYFA) has commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for giving its members opportunity to benefit from the ongoing training of young farmers in the state in modern agriculture.

It applauded the commitment of the government to rebranding and enhancing their skills in the agricultural value chain.

In appreciation letter personally signed by the President of the association, Comrade Kenneth Eze, and made available to newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday, he expressed delight that the Governor listened to their plea for its members to be included in the programme to sharpen their skills.

Enugu State Young Farmers Association (ENSYFA) heartily thank you, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, for the speedy response to our letter to include the members of her association (ENSYFA) in the training of our youths and young farmers on modern agriculture programme holding at Keffi, Nasarawa State.

“Your Excellency, Sir, your response has shown that you indeed are our father, a father who listens and has his children’s plights at heart. It has shown that you are very concerned with the well-being of Ndi Enugu, who you govern.

“Since your emergence as the Executive Governor of our dear State, you have engineered the state into becoming an investment destination for all and sundry, courtesy of your people-driven policies and programmes, which have led to a feeling of unprecedented peace and development within the State.

“However, we urge that you don’t leave the Young Farmers to stay with their knowledge alone without making good use of it. We plead you empower them financially no matter how little it could be to enable them to kick-start and extend the agricultural revolution, which is part and parcel of every developed society.

“ENSYFA as a registered cooperative has in its mission defined ways to engage these young farmers towards utilizing the gained knowledge. We have plots of land at Ugwogo-Nike, Enugu East where each young farmer can be apportioned a plot of land to cultivate.

“With just a token given to all that have taken part in the programme, we can arrange them in batches for the farming programme.

“We appreciate your relentless efforts and love, which we the youths enjoy. We use this golden opportunity to assure you we will continue to deliver on your visions for the state by ensuring that we continue to align our programmes with your road map vision for accelerated development of our dear State.

Thanks for your kind gestures and your favourable response,” the letter concluded.

Recall that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration last week sent another batch of 260 youths selected from the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State, who have a passion for farming, including Reverend Sisters, to Keffi, Nasarawa State, for a two-week agricultural training at CSS Global Farms.
